They will pay you BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) if you live on base and both BAH&BAS(Basic Allowance for Subsistence) if you live off base. BAS is standard rate w/ or w/out dependents and is the same through out the ranks.
Enlisted BAS= $241.60/mo
Officer BAS= $166.37/mo
Both are going to depend on rank and w/ or w/out dependents. You probably won’t get paid this untill you reach tech school. You can finde all the pay rates and allowances on the net, www.dfas.mil/money/milpay/pay.

Has anyone been to a MEPS station for their physical recently? If so I need to know if they did hair strand testing. I am a freshman in college and am doing AFROTC. We have to go to an Air Force base MEPS station to get our physicals, Im not sure when. But I really neeed to know their drug testing procedures. Do they do blood, urine, and hair strand testing? Please help me out!

YES, he should be able to come home if he starts tech school in NOV, I went through tech school on nov 16, 1998. I didn't have a problem going home. If he needs to fly he needs to book asap. Phases are time period where he'll earn back priveleges, like wearing civilian clothing again, extedned curfews, and off base priveleges. when you first get there hell be in uniform at all times for the first 2 weeks and have to be in bed by 9-10. He'll get a chance to upgrade a phase every 2 weeks or so. I was in tech school for 19 weeks and I made it to phase 4.

ijust joined the airforce about a month ago and there was no job openings ...I havent heard from anyone about a job opening either. Does that mean they will just put me anywhere if a job just opens or will i get to choose once some opens?
