no there is not, sorry to say.. but if the service needs him there.. he is sent no questions asked.... however if he isnt in special forces the chances of him seeing any combat is highly unlikely unless he is a pilot also... good luck to you and him and may god be with you
Hopefully he joined for the right reasons! My daughter is 18 and had wanted to join the Air Guard for years, she was in the midst of joining when Sept 11 happened. Her recuriter said he would understand if she no longer wanted to join but 9/11 had made her completly sure that joining and serving her country was truly what she wanted to do. She is in the security unit and right now they are activated so she has had to put college on the backburner. She is currently at Lackland at Tech school. She is proud to be there and knows she is giving to her country as much as she possible can. Because she is so sure of her decision, I know I can handle it, if her activation means she has to be far from home. Just be proud of your son. He is giving to his country as most will never have the opportunity. I know its hard not to worry but you have to admire these men and women!!
Hello,
Are you kidding me? get your son out of going overseas and going to war? thats insane. Thats our job to be ready to server our country. Thats what we been trained to to and its all practice till we go to war. This is the USAF, not Mcdonalds. This is an oppurtunity of a life time to serve his country. Remember this is voluntary, no one forced him to join, nor was there a draft. Military is not for everyone, so you should feel Honored and priveleged that he can servere his country. Depending on what he does, he may or may not see any action. I was a crew chief in on F15E Strike Eales and my work was done on a flightline, no where near the war. IF hes a pilot or one of the ground forces then he'll see action and be making history. Just be proud and that he comes home safely. In the 4 yrs that I was in I didnt go to the desert, We were deployed, but not everyone goes, someone has to stay behind.
