Veteran Status

How do they determine who gets veteran status? Do you have to be someone that flies combat missions, or serves in a forward area, or does war related work? Any answers would be appreciated.

Hello,

A veteran is anyone who serves in the United States Armed Forces and has been seperated or discharged form the military. It has nothing to w/ flying missions, War, or serving in a fwd location.
