See your Air Force recruiter if you haven't already. Its their job to provide you answers to your questions concerning entry requirements into the Air Force. They are the experts!

I'll put in my two-cents worth anyway. This is what you need to mindful of:

1. Air Force has a zero tolerance for drugs. So if you are doing drugs, you better get cleaned and stay clean before setting foot in the recruiter's office. If drugs isn't your style and haven't touched the stuff, you're already halfway there.

2. Health/Fitness: If you are overweight, lose the weight fast. Excercise a lot. The Air Force has a strict rule about folks who are overweight and that's not just an entry requirement, it's through out your Air Force career.

3. If you are interested in becoming an officer in the medical field, please let me know. I can help you with this. Just post a reply here and I'll get back to you with the details since I'm in the process of doing it myself. However, if you prefer the enlisted route, that's fine too.

4. Throught the enlisted route, there are no guarantees that you will get a job in the health profession. You can try to apply once you you sit down with the recruiter. The bottom line here is: The Air Force needs come first....across the board. You can put in your preferences in terms of careers, base preferences, etc. but it all boils down to where the Air Force wants you.

Anyway, I hope this is enough to go on. If you have any questions, please post here. That's what forums are for.

Thanks and hope you "Cross into the Blue" soon!
