Has anyone been to a MEPS station for their physical recently? If so I need to know if they did hair strand testing. I am a freshman in college and am doing AFROTC. We have to go to an Air Force base MEPS station to get our physicals, Im not sure when. But I really neeed to know their drug testing procedures. Do they do blood, urine, and hair strand testing? Please help me out!

As Far as i know its just a urine test, but they take your blood too, but prpbably not for that.
If you really want to make sure you are safe, stop doing drugs! You are sitting there soaking up government money going to school, don't you think you should atleast have some respect for yourself and quit?
First off, Im not doing drugs, I experimented with marijuana last summer and am worried that if a hair strand test is taken I will fail it. Secondly Im not on scholarship for ROTC, and third dont judge people you dont know!! I am fully aware of the Air Force's policy on marijuana use and am willing to never do it again if I make getting a commission my goal for the next 4 or 5 years.
I apologize then. If you just experimented than don't worry too much, as long as you are honest about it. You sound like an alright guy after all, nowadays you see a lot of people from high school with poor work ethics and discipline. I wish you the best of luck in your goals. ugh oh... lol sounds pretty rough for you. I went recently, and they do a lot. They take blood; to check for AIDS, drugs, and any other disease. They have you give a urine sample while someone watches, but they didn't do hair strand testing. Either way, if you took drugs, you're better off waiting or else you're screwed. If they find drugs in your system, you'll have to get waivers next time through, haha... that's if they let you through again. So g'luck.
I do have a good idea Ewarguy of the rationale behind your initial assumption about me. I agree that a large part of my generation, raised on a steady diet of MTV, and like you said werent taught anything about a strong work ethic or taking pride in their country are bound for failure in this world. Thanks for understanding, and placing some faith in "Generation Y," we arent all lazy, stupid, and ignorant.
The only drug test you get is the piss test I was there last week, but the test does show the drinks and pills that poeple do take to clean out there system
did you get drug tested for your pre participatory sports physical before you did rotc?
